Secretary - Carmen Park

Carmen Park is an Industrial Mechanical Engineer, pursuing her master degree in Data Analytics at Penn State University. In her 20 years career, she has successfully transitioned from automotive to telecommunications to semiconductor and then defense industries, proving she can turn these experiences into opportunities to share knowledge and best practices. She began her career as a Manufacturing Engineer at Ford Motor Company. Later she became a Quality Engineer implementing SPC for 30 SMT lines and testing. This ultimately positioned her to lead the implementation of QS9000, across a plant of 5,000 employees. At Bell Labs, Lucent Technologies she worked with suppliers around the globe and Bell Labs R&D scientists developing technology for custom fiber optic components. One of her most exciting and rewarding accomplishments was at Qualcomm Communications, where she was assigned to support Corporate R&D as a New Product Introduction Engineer. She led the launch of the First Wi-Fi on planes, this system currently known as “Go-Go Air Inflight System”.
SWE has been a constant for Carmen and her family in multiple states. Thanks to SWE during a career break, she stayed connected to the latest news in the engineering field and volunteered representing SWE at Outreach programs. In Florida, she co-founded the Unity Club at Rock Lake Middle School, to empower girls to practice their leadership skills. The Unity Club has been recognized and invited to Orlando Business Journal Women of the Year Luncheon since 2016. Carmen recently lead a Women’s Advocacy corporate project which resulted in Kaman Corp. becoming a SWE Corporate member.
